Romans 13:12-13
12The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
13Let us behave properly as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and sensuality, not in strife and jealousy.
What strikes me most today
the image of light and darkness. Jesus is the light of the world. I especially like the image today because the light comes through the crown of thorns. After all Christ suffered willingly for my sins, I don't want to keep turning toward the sins for which I should be condemned. Rather, I need to "lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light." From reading today's words, I realize that St. Paul realized what struggles we all go through every day - a non-sinner can't understand and write like that, and what a comfort to know that a great Saint like St. Paul completely understands! It makes me glad I named this blog "Love of St. Paul!"
St. Paul, Pray for Us!
