The apostolate and the apostle
The apostolate is the flowering of true love for God and for souls. It is the fruit of an intense interior life.
Imagine an inflamed heart, which being unable either to contain or to suppress the fire within, expands and expresses in so many forms which are in conformity with the Church.
An apostle is one who carries God in his heart and irradiates him all around himself.
An apostle is a saint who gathers treasures and from his overanbundance shares it with others.
An apostle has a heart aflame with love of God and God's people; he can neither suppress nor suffocate what he feels and thinks.
An apostle is a vase of election through which flows the life of God and people flock to him for nourishing themselves.
An apostle is a temple of the most Holy Trinity who is supremely active in him. He, as a writer says, exudes God from his every pore: in words, deeds, prayer, gestures, the attitudes in public as well as in private. He communicates God from his total being.
Live by God! And give God.
